What is Motherwort Tea?
Motherwort tea is among the most used medicinal plants in Chinese medicine and is widely spread throughout Asia and Europe. It is a herbaceous plant, high between 60 and 100 cm, decorated with leaves with long stems, placed on a hollow stem, on the top of which are situated pink or violet blossom. It is the blossomed part (and sometimes the leaves) used for the preparation of teas, infusions, potions, compresses.
What is it used for?
Motherwort is used to treat anaemia, flatulence (gasses), painful urination, headaches, anxiety, stress, and low blood pressure. The leaves help with burns, so compresses are prepared for them. The herb is also known to help relieve painful menstruation, prevent uterine infections, heal infertility, and help ease the climacteric. In Chinese medicine, healers applied it in an irregular cycle, as well as in other disorders of the sexual system. It is also known that drinking motherwort tea has a soothing effect on muscles, which also makes it useful for the heart. Additionally, it strengthens the nervous system and has a relaxing effect. Does it have any side effects?

How to prepare delicious motherwort tea?
Two teaspoons of the motherwort tea per 500 ml of boiling water. Wait for 5 minutes, then strain and add honey. Drink 125ml of the tea, 2-4 times a day with a meal and before bed.
