What is beeswax?
Exceptionally pure and natural bee product, formed by the bee workers in the hive. Bee wax serves to build the cells, which then store honey, pollen, and is also a place for mother-bee to lay its eggs. Bee workers produce them into an ideal hexagonal shape. The colour of the wax depends on what impurities there are in it – propolis, pollen, etc. Beeswax is hugely resistant to the external environment. It can maintain its beneficial qualities for hundreds or even thousands of years. It can take up a significant amount of heat without spoiling its qualities.
Bee wax combines paraffin, stearin, animal and vegetable oils, even sometimes starch and clay. Typical characteristics of the bee wax are its colour (light yellow/ dark yellow to brown), smells pleasantly of honey (especially warmed), no taste, no hardness. It sticks to the teeth by its homogeneous/grainy structure.
- Proven anti-inflammatory properties.
- Antibiotic action (destroys disease-causing micro-organisms).
- Regenerates cells and tissues.
- Smooths wrinkles.
- Softens rough skin.
- By applying the heated wax on the body, it steadily gives up its temperature, which contributes to our better blood circulation and the spread of the inflammatory process.
It is recommended to chew and swallow sealed honey cakes. It works well against hay fever, bronchial asthma, laryngitis, pharyngitis, cleanses the teeth of bones and tartar.
Facial cream with wax (against wrinkles)
30g of beeswax, 30g of honey, 30ml of white lily bulb juice, and 30ml of onion juice mix and heat on low heat. You need to melt the wax well, then stir well. From the resulting cream apply to the face in the morning and evening.
The wax should be heated in a water bath until it melts. Then spread it around the diseased area and wrap up the field with a woollen cloth for about 20-30 minutes. To enhance the effect of the wax could be added propolis. This form of treatment is recommended for traumas, joint problems, tendons, muscle aches, bronchitis, colds, etc.
Repair the snapping drawer
A thin layer of pure beeswax placed on the rails of the old drawer will fix the problem quickly and efficiently. Wax can also be useful for windows because it quickly and easily lubricates wooden, metal or plastic frames.
A decision about old problems
If you need to remove old and rusty connections (doors, furniture, etc.), you can loosen rusty locks by lubricating the screw threads using a melted wax.
Protection for wooden boards
Whether it is wood furniture, panelling or wood flooring, beeswax is an ideal mean to support them. It restores the beauty of wood quickly and ecologically. For this purpose, warm and mix wax with linseed oil and piperidine and spread a warm mixture on the surfaces with a cloth. Finally, polish with a woollen cloth.
Protect the bronze surfaces
Protect the bronze parts of bronze furniture and accessories from oxidation with beeswax. For this purpose, apply a mixture of 150g beeswax to the bronze surfaces, melted in a litre of teapots. Finally, smear with a cloth to create a thin layer of the metal.
Lubrication of tightened screws
Before installing the bolts, lower the bottom with a little beeswax so the screw will be smoother while protecting it from corrosion.
Processing of wooden board for cutting
Return the excellent condition of the cutting board made of wood by applying a wax mixture to it using a soft cloth. The mixture is prepared with half a teaspoon of wax and a glass of mineral oil.
